Hanamaki Onsen Tours Worth Booking
For a guided day out during an Iwate stay, choose Geibikei Gorge and Yugen Cave from Ichinoseki. Brewery guides lead tastings in Ichinoseki and Oshu; the private two-day Kenji and Tono tours depart from Tokyo by van.
Two-day private trips from Tokyo
A driver-guide collects your group at an address in central Tokyo’s 23 wards for either private tour. You travel north by van and make the first visits that afternoon. The driver-guide speaks English, Hindi or Urdu and takes up to six people. Couples pay the group rate. At the end, the driver returns you to your Tokyo address.
On the Hanamaki tour, you visit places associated with Miyazawa Kenji’s life and stories. Kenji museum admission and a day-bath entry are included. On the Tono tour, you visit Denshoen folk village and attend a storytelling session. On the second day, you see the kappa pool and stone statues in the forest. You can customize either route.
- Accommodation: excluded; book a hotel for each night.
- Lunch: excluded.
At Dowa Mura, you can explore the log-house exhibitions, fairy path and wildflower garden on your own. For an independent journey to Tono’s museums and relocated farmhouses, take the JR Kamaishi Line and local buses.
